Fiddler on the Roof
Summer 2015




The Fort Atkinson Community Theatre (FACT) is gearing up for its 2015 summer production of the classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof. Based on tales by Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye, a poor milkman, and his family in early 1900’s Russia. Throughout the show, Tevye deals with many obstacles and challenges but his pride and faith help him to endure and keep moving forward.

The Fort Atkinson Community Theatre (FACT) is gearing up for its 2015 summer production of the classic musical, Fiddler on the Roof. Based on tales by Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye, a poor milkman, and his family in early 1900’s Russia. Throughout the show, Tevye deals with many obstacles and challenges but his pride and faith help him to endure and keep moving forward. 




Auditions were held recently for the production and the cast features many talented performers from local communities. Leading the cast as Tevye, is Scott Vechinsky. Playing Tevye’s wife Golde is Amy Nelson, and their five daughters will be played by Alyssa DeJong (Tzeitel), Jocelyn McGurk (Hodel), Maggie Ramirez (Chava), Stephanie Schafer (Schprintze), and Nora Nelson (Bielke). Throughout the musical Tevye’s three oldest daughters meet suitors and marry, playing these suitors are Thomas McDonald (Motel), Nikolai Vechinsky (Perchik), and Nathan Kozak (Fydeka). Setting up these matches is the comical meddler, Yente, being played by Kim Stachowiak. Other featured performers are Jason Teeter (Lazar Wolf), Bryan Engfer (Rabbi), Jeremy Winters (Avram), Rich Vurva (Mordcha), Paul Casier (Constable), Beth Miller (Fruma Sarah), Danielle Moser (Grandma Tzietel), Becky Schultz (Shaindel), Manuel Martinez (Sasha) also Cole McDonald and Spencer Whitcombe (youngest suitors). 




The production also features a large ensemble of performers as Villagers, Russian Soldiers, and Dancers including Kryston Bell, Madeline Buchta, Chris Buckingham-Taylor, Mark Christensen, Molly Ebel, Angela Griffith, Anne Grover, Alyssa Hannam, Emma Hartwig, Erica Jacobson, Kendra Kasper, Robin Kish, Halden Kreklow, Grace McMahon, Valorie Schamens, Payton Thompson, and Amelia Zanin. 



Also joining the production are many talented individuals working hard behind the scenes. Leading the show as Director and Vocal Director is Jeannie Vechinsky. Joining the directing staff as pit director is Anthony Kading, tech director Nick Dingman, and choreographer Abraham Martinez. Working backstage will be production assistants Hope Kapelke and Danielle Gukich, house manager John Collins, and stage manager Aimee Hanyzewski. Costumes will be compiled by Angela Griffith, props Beth Miller, PR Alyssa DeJong, accompanist Nicole McCarty and leading set building is Breck McHenry.
